Frequently Asked Questions
How do I save my game progress?
+Trenches: WW1 Tactics automatically saves your progress after every battle and when you return to the main menu. Your save includes:
- Campaign progress and completed missions
- Veteran soldiers and their experience
- Unlocked achievements and medals
- Game settings and preferences
All data is stored locally on your device.
Does the game require an internet connection?
+No! Trenches: WW1 Tactics is fully playable offline. You don't need an internet connection to play any part of the game. This makes it perfect for commutes, flights, or anywhere without connectivity.
How does the supply system work?
+Units need to stay connected to supply sources (HQ, depots, trucks) to maintain combat effectiveness. When units are in supply range:
- They receive resupply each turn
- They can heal if not engaged
- They maintain full combat modifiers
When cut off from supply, units suffer penalties to attack, defense, and morale. Extended isolation causes attrition damage. Keep your supply lines secure!
How do reinforcements work?
+You earn Reinforcement Points (RP) during battle by:
- Eliminating enemy units
- Capturing objectives
- Holding objectives each turn
- Surviving without losses
Spend RP to call in reinforcement packages including infantry, machine gun teams, medics, engineers, and more. Some reinforcements (like tanks and stormtroopers) require specific factions or controlled objectives.
What happens to my veteran soldiers if they die?
+If a veteran soldier falls in battle, they are lost permanently. This is by design - it reflects the reality of war and adds weight to your tactical decisions. Protect your experienced soldiers!
Fallen veterans are honored in the Memorial screen, where you can view their service record and the battles they fought in.
How do I reset my campaign progress?
+To reset your campaign and start fresh:
- Go to Settings from the main menu
- Scroll down to find "Reset Campaign"
- Confirm the reset when prompted
Warning: This will erase all progress including missions, veterans, and achievements. This action cannot be undone.
Is there multiplayer?
+Trenches: WW1 Tactics is currently a single-player experience. We focused on creating a deep, historically-inspired campaign with intelligent AI opponents.
Multiplayer may be considered for future updates based on player feedback.
